About Us


Lee's Taekwondo Class and Martial Art teaches traditional taekwondo.  Our founder, Grandmaster N. H. Lee, learned Tang Soo Do before the nine kwans were unified as Taekwondo.  Our students learn Taeguk, Palgwe, and various ITF forms.  Even though we align with World Taekwondo, our true style is Mun Moo Kwan.  

School History

Started in 1977 in the Tri-cities area of Virginia, Lee's Taekwondo Class & Martial Art has been teaching students of all ages for four decades. During that time, students from Lee's Taekwondo Class and Martial Art placed well in many tournaments throughout Virginia.
In December of 2018, Master N.H. Lee decided to retire and passed on his business and legacy to Steven Devers. This 41 year old business moved from Colonial Heights, VA to Belmont, NC. As of January 2024, we have moved to Cramerton, NC.
Lee's Taekwondo Class and Martial Art has always and will continue to teach traditional taekwondo.

Beginner & Advanced Students

Taekwondo is a martial art that students of all ages can enjoy.  Students are able to attend classes once they reach school age.  Basic techniques and stances are focused on in order to cultivate a traditional Taekwondo foundation that can be built upon.  Classes are mixed with both advanced and beginners training together.

Full Contact Sparring

Students are taught Self Defense techniques that include various types of attacks.  Students are required to wear a complete set of Sparring Gear and are allowed to make full contact.
